PicPecc Follow-up – the right treatment at the right time and in the right way
Short description
This project follows the development of Pictorial Support in Person-Centred Care for Children (PicPecc), with a particular focus on the psychometric evaluation of the developed rating scale, the electronic faces thermometer scale. The current scale forms part of the PicPecc tool; however, the electronic faces thermometer scale can also be used independently for symptom relief. The aim of this project is to enhance the precision of symptom management in children by strengthening their ability to express symptoms in a way that can be reliably assessed. The starting point is the integration of the electronic faces thermometer scale as a component of precision health in symptom relief.
Longer description
Through structured assessments, personalised documentation, and communication with healthcare professionals, the project supports the development and implementation of effective strategies for regular symptom monitoring. By enabling the early identification and management of key symptoms, the electronic faces thermometer scale within PicPecc contributes to reducing their impact on both children and their families.
The project is based on a validated self-reporting method and aligns with the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, ensuring that children’s voices are heard within their own care.
