The change will not affect operations in the areas concerned. However, the new faculty will be able to take comprehensive responsibility for research and education in science and technology, addressing the major societal challenges in these fields.

“There is a great deal of commitment from everyone involved, as well as a strong desire to drive strategic work within IT and STEM areas, with the new faculty serving as a foundation,” says Vice-Chancellor Malin Broberg.

(STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.)

The Faculty of 91̽�� and Technology has a total of over 900 employees and 3,700 full-time students, organised across nine departments. The activities are currently conducted at three campuses in Gothenburg, as well as in Mariestad and at two research stations on the West Coast.

“This organisational change provides us with better opportunities for collaboration in key research areas and positions us as a leading academic institution for education, research, and engagement in science and technology,” says Göran Hilmersson, Dean.
