About Tove Hedenrud

My research profile emcompass studies of perceptions, attitudes and behaviors related to prescribing and use of medicines among prescribers and users. I have studied perceptions of the benefits and risks of treatment and self-care qualitatively and quantitatively among medicine users. I have conducted studies of both over- and underuse of medicines, factors related to its use and its consequences. Similarly, prescribing behaviors have been studied using different methods and in relation to policy changes.

Some of my ongoing projects concern barriers to medical treatment among asthma patients, methodological studies on medicine use, and development of a generic instrument for measuring adherence. The research group is also planning a new project on illegally acquired prescription medicines.
