About Pia Gudmundsson

I am originally an upper secondary school teacher in biology and psychology and received my PhD in 2012 with the thesis ‘Factors related to depression in women - over the life course’ based on data from the Women's Health Study. After my PhD, I worked for ten years as the scientific coordinator of the Centre for Ageing and Health - AgeCap. During this time I trained as a birth doula and childbirth educator and in 2023 I was hired as a research coordinator for a clinical trial investigating whether the diabetes drug metformin can prolong pregnancy in early pre-eclampsia (the PI4 study).
